'Highland Star' Scottish Gold Nugget, 2021, 30.25g
Location: Highlands / Year: 2021 / Weight: 30.25g
This rare Scottish gold nugget, acquired by Two Skies from the Roy Brown collection. It is an incredible museum grade 30.25g nugget. It is named the 'Highland Star' because it is unusually bright, due to the contrast of gold and minor quartz inclusions. This nugget is uniquely textured taking it's form from being clenched in the surrounding bedrock.
The ruggedness of this nugget is evidence that shows Roy Brown's professionalism as a successful metal detectorist and that he was on the right source.
The nugget was sent to the Edinburgh assay office to be documented and tested. With an approximate recorded gold content of 90% (this equates to 21.5 carats) with the remaining elements present being 7.5% silver/ 2.5% iron.
